CompanionLine is a subscription service that provides regular, friendly phone calls to older adults from carefully selected human companions. Our goal is to reduce loneliness and help your loved one feel connected, heard, and valued — from the comfort of their own home.

How does a typical call work?

Our calls start from  20 minutes and are scheduled in advance at a time that suits your loved one. The companion will call them directly on their regular phone — no apps or technology needed. Calls are friendly and conversational, covering topics your loved one enjoys: family memories, current events, hobbies, or simply a good chat.

How many calls are included?

Accepted Answer

Depending on the  subscription, but the regular subscription includes two 20-minute calls per week, giving your loved one regular, consistent companionship throughout the month.

Do you offer calls in languages other than English?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We offer companionship calls in Russian and Estonian as well as English, at a slightly higher subscription rate to reflect the specialist matching involved. Please contact us to discuss your loved one's language needs.

Question 5

What happens if the recipient misses a scheduled call?

Accepted Answer

Please ensure the recipient is available at the agreed time. Their companion will make up to three contact attempts during the first 10 minutes of the scheduled booking. If we cannot reach the recipient, the call will be treated as used. If they answer during this period, the call may be limited to the time remaining in the original booking. Calls cannot normally be extended where this would delay another customer.
